Hey everyone! I have decided to self-publish a full-colour coffee-table
book documenting the previous twenty years of my artwork and I need your help! This book will be titled CHRIS WOODS and will feature
all of your favorite paintings from my many solo exhibitions over the last two decades. The internet has made self-publishing
in the 21st century a very simple and affordable proposition. I am ready to get to work but I have one small hurdle. Publishing
an art book means having high-quality digital scans of all of my paintings. I need raise $1200.00 to purchase an Epson Perfection V750-M Pro Scanner
and related accessories.
This professional quality piece of
equipment will allow me to scan in the past 20 years of conventional 35mm, medium-format and large-format colour transparencies
I have shot of my artwork. In doing some calculations I have found that would be more economical to do the work on my own
rather than enlist an outside imaging company to scan and correct the hundreds of images I need.
A full two-thirds of my
image archives are in pre-digital format. These archives record not only my paintings, but also art openings, installations
and images of me at work in the studio and in the field. In order to make this book a success I need to turn those analog
slides into high-quality digital scans ready for printing. Not only will this scanner assist in producing CHRIS WOODS but it will also help me in digitizing my entire image-archive.
I will be laying out the book myself and publishing
the final product via lulu.com or a similar self-publishing website. Upon completion, the book will be available for retail
sale at Amazon.com/ca in an affordable softcover
edition, sized 10 X 7.5 inches and a deluxe hardcover edition, sized 12 X 12 inches suitable for your coffee table or home library.
As a thank-you to
the first 40 people to donate over $30 you will receive (at random) a FREE, initialed-by-the-artist, printer's-proof of one of Chris’ 'Precious Trio' silkscreen prints as a thank you! (Thumbprints and creases included!) The free gifts will be sent by Canada Post,

into a draw. Two third-prize winners will each receive a free copy of the 10” X 7.5” softcover edition. for sale online.

3 'Precious Trio: Gold Silver and Bronze' silkscreen prints! A $1500 value! Each print in the set of 3 measures
23” X 18” and are hand-produced, signed and dated by the artist. (See above illustration.) Only 50 sets were made by Chris in 2009 and they will never be produced again!
The
prize draw will be conducted as soon as the donation
goal has been reached. The set of 3 prints will be sent
by registered mail or delivered by Chris if the winner is in the Greater Vancouver area.
I will also endeavor to
make both editions of CHRIS WOODS available, ‘at cost’, to all who donate. You will also find yourself listed on a special
‘Thank You’ page in both editions of the book. You deserve it!
CHRIS WOODS will be designed to the highest quality publishing standards by myself and it will be registered
with a brand new ISBN number. The purpose of the ISBN is to allow for more efficient marketing
of publications by booksellers, libraries, universities, wholesalers and distributors. Yes, it will be a real book with a
UPC code and everything!
I hope to have CHRIS WOODS available online for purchase by the spring of next year to coincide with
my exhibition of paintings, Superfortress, which
is scheduled to show at Gallery Jones in Vancouver, BC in April of 2012.
